Why should I not use an automated translation software?

You can buy software of this kind; however the result text will be only a substitution of words: like using a dictionary and placing the first meaning you find in the target text. An example? Try to translate the same document from English to Italian, then from Italian to Dutch and finally again into English. The original English text will be very different from the final English Text, even if you use other language combinations for this experiment. On the contrary, a human translator is able to understand the meaning and the scope of that text and, thanks to his/her experience, will choose the correct terms, grammar and style.

2. How are translations priced?
Translations are priced on a per word basis depending on the language being translated, the technical nature of the document, the total word count and the deadline. Fill out the quote form and we will be happy to prepare a cost estimate for you within one business day. Proofreading and certification of the documents are included in the price of the translation.

3. Does Arabic or Japanese cost more to translate than Spanish?
Yes, a Japanese or Arabic translation will cost more than a Spanish translation. This is due to the market: there are many more Spanish language translators than Japanese or Arabic. The more expensive the per-word rate for a language, the lower the volume of translation worldwide in that language. Also, Japanese and Arabic may present font and formatting issues not found in Spanish translations.

4. How quickly can your company translate a document?
Our normal turnaround time is 3-5 business days for small projects. However, the turnaround time is ultimately determined by the word count and technicality of the document. Please fill out the quote form or give us a call and we will be happy to include the turnaround time along with the price in the quote that we return to you. If you need a rush job please let us know and we will do our very best to meet your needs.

5. In what manner and format does your company need to receive documents to be translated?
We can receive documents via email in the format of your choice (Word, Excel, PDF, PowerPoint, plain text), or from the original source files (HTML, PHP, ASP, XML).

We email in the formats mentioned above.

7. Do you count numbers and words like 'a' and 'the' when considering the word count in a document?
Yes, our final word count is based on the electronic word count (using specific word count software) of the translated language (source language). This is an industry standard and is really the only consistent way of charging between translators and clients.

Articles, prepositions etc. are part of the language and message you want to convey, and thus, not useless words, therefore they must be translated.

8. Are translations done by human translators or machines?
All of the translations performed by Translationsxxx are done by human translators, who translate into their native language and are experts on the subjects in which they translate.

9. Does your company provide interpretation services?
Yes, we do offer interpretation services . We can provide qualified interpreters in a variety of languages. We can also provide phone interpretations as well. Please call us to set up an interpretation.
